Ex-NBA player Herren to speak at CSU Tuesday on addiction and recovery

Former NBA player Chris Herren will share the story of his basketball life and struggle with addiction Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Lumpkin Center at Columbus State University.

The event, which is free and open to the publlic, is sponsored by the West Central Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Columbus Cottonmouths and Chick-fil-A.

Herren is the author of "Basketball Junkie" in which he detailed his story of substance abuse and recovery. He was also featured in the ESPN Films documentary "Unguarded."
