The Columbus team of Charlie McDaniel and Kyle Albright won a qualifier for the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball on Tuesday.

McDaniel/Albright shot a 7-under-par 63 to win the qualifier by two shots over a trio of teams.

The qualifier was held at Rivermont Golf Club in John's Creek, Ga.

The second annual U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be held at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., May 21-25, 2016.

Winged Foot has hosted 12 major championships, including five U.S. Opens, two U.S. Women's Opens, one PGA Championship, one U.S. Senior and two U.S. Amateurs.

''We are real happy to get to to Winged Foot, a place with so much history,'' McDaniel said.

McDaniel played for Columbus High, while Albright played for Hardaway High from 2000-04. Albright and the Hawks finished third in the Class AAAA state championships in 2004.

The two played together and won the Member-Guest tournament at the Country Club of Columbus in 2014.

Albright made birdies on Nos. 1, 4, 7 and 12, while McDaniel made his on 10, 11 and 13.

Columbus' Bubba Gallops, who was playing with Mike Cromer of Peachtree Corners, finished in a tie for fifth at 66.

Also at 66 was the team of Columbus' Bobby Brent III and Suwanee's David Poteet.

Columbus' Jacob Hitt and Jason Ondriezek finished in a tie for 33rd at 73.

Four ball is also known as best ball.
