The Columbus Lions announced Wednesday the signing of two players -- defensive back Antwione Reese and kicker Lindsey Wolfe.

Reese (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) played at Central Connecticut State. He was a two-time All-New England Conference selection. He averaged 9.9 tackles a game in his junior year, which was second in the conference.

He spent time last year in the camps for the New York Jets and the New England Patriots before being cut.

"Antwione's skill speaks for itself. I was impressed with his leadership," Lions coach Jason Gibson said. "We are recruiting players that fit the Lions organization on and off the field. We have created an atmosphere in Columbus that is the best in the country. After moving up two more defensive backs to the Arena Football League, we are looking to fill Those voids. I think Antwione will come into camp and compete immediately."

Wolfe earned PIGL Special Teams Player of the Week honors four times last season. He finished in the top 3 in most kicking categories in 2015.

"We are excited to get Lindsey back for 2016," Gibson said. "We have always had excellent kickers in Columbus over the years and Lindsey continues that tradition. Everyone knows kickers are a different breed, but Lindsey is a true football player. He is always mentally prepared and trusts his fundamentals and preparation which separates him from the pack."

The Lions announced in September that they would be moving to the American Indoor Football League for the 2016 season.
