Sunday Best: Marion County WR Lorenzo Smothers honored for consistently scoring multiple TD's

It's not a rare occasion for Marion County's Lorenzo Smothers to score multiple touchdowns in a game, but it's also worth taking notice when he does.

On Friday, the Eagles' star do-it-all athlete rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns and caught another touchdown pass to total four scores for the game. Marion County won the game over Greenville easily, 48-7, to stay undefeated in Region 4-A play.

For his efforts, he is the Sunday Best player of the week.

Here's a look at the rest of the weekend's best performances.

Jermaine Hernandez, Spencer, WR: Caught six passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran in a 2-point conversion.

Romello Kimbrough, QB: Passed for 183 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 64 and caught a pass for 35.

Kasen Andrews, Calvary Christian, QB: Passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another in a 49-35 loss to Covenant Christian.

Kalan Watts, Northside, RB: Rushed 28 times for 114 yards and a touchdown, and returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown in a 24-17 win over Columbus.

Jamar Austin, Northside, DB: Intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to preserve a 24-17 lead over Columbus.

Jawon Pass, Carver, QB: Completed 10-of-13 pass for 167 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another 83 yards and two touchdowns in a 46-14 win over Harris County.

Sam Ndem, Brookstone, RB: Rushed 19 times for 100 yards and a touchdown in a key 14-0 win over Pacelli.

Brookstone defense: Held Pacelli to 195 total yards and pitched a shutout against Pacelli. Culver Norred and Sam Lowe both recorded sacks in the win.

Mykelle Kelley, Marion County, RB: Rushed 20 times for 148 yards and a touchdown in a 48-7 win over Greenville.

Quentez Battle, Marion County, QB: Passed for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 48-7 win over Greenville.

Anthony Bell, Manchester, RB: Rushed 18 times for 123 yards and three touchdowns in a 26-20 win over Bremen.

Damarcus Addie, Manchester, WR: Caught five passes for 167 yards and a touchdown in a 26-20 win over Bremen.

Nick Beason, Shaw, ATH: Had 279 total yards, 175 receiving and 104 rushing, and rushed for a touchdown.

Kelley had an interception and Maurice Carter had an interception; Quan Weaver, Central, rushed for a 46-yard touchdown and passed for another touchdown; B.J. Knight, Shaw, passed for 287 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another touchdown.
