Ian Brown, Sam Wyatt win Solider Marathon
Ian Brown and Sam Wyatt won the Solider Marathon in Columbus on Saturday.
Brown won the men's race with a time of 2 hours, 58 minutes and 54 seconds. He beat Bob Vanlangenhoven by more than four minutes. Vanlangenhoven finished in 3:03.
The rest of the men's top 10 were Chad Jones (3:09.36), Neil Struby (3:09.54), Matthew Slocum (3:14.10), Mark Tombrink (3:14.22), Francis Kung'u (3:15.25), Martin Angulo (3:17.08), Allen Leth (3;17.55) and Andrew Mullins (3:20.02).
Wyatt won the women's race in 3:31.50 with Brenda Hitz finishing second at 3:34.19.
The rest of the top 10 finishers were Andrea Shrote (3:36.01), Sara Stone (3:36.29), Dawn Hultstrom (3:37.42), Alsion Steglich (3:41.29), Danette Betts (3:43.41), Kim Mixon (3:44.31), Samantha Cocca (3:51.47) and Casey Geringer (3:54.10).
There was also a half-marathon held with Brian Landry and Cody Sohn winning.
Landry won the men's race with a time of 1:29.21, followed by Hans Troyer (1:29.55), Ian Lanigan (1:30.13), Steven Aylesworth (1:34) and Tim Hall (1:35.22).
Sohn won the women's race with a time of 1:35.01, followed by Lori Hunter (1:37.04), Shannon Cloy (1:42.03), Megan Gorgone (1:42.37) and Jessica Patterson (1:43.38).
