Chattahoochee Valley runs winning streak to eight games
The Chattahoochee Valley Community College baseball team ran its winning streak to eight games with a sweep of Wallace State-Dothan on Thursday afternoon at Howard Lake Field.
The Pirates improved their record to 16-6-1 with the 6-3 and 3-0 victories. They are in first in the ACCC South with a 6-0 record.
Both 7-inning games were won with complete games. Chase Burks won the first one to improve to 4-0. He allowed four hits and one walks to go with seven strikeouts. Chase Adkins won the nightcap as she gave up five hits and struck out 10.
Jay Meuse had two hits and two RBIs in the first game. Brandon Hill and Carson Hughes each drove in a run.
Will Campbell, Nolan Greckel and Hill drove in one run apiece in Game 2.
The same teams play again at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dothan.
