CVCC rolls over Selma in Game 1; Game 2 suspended by rain
Chattahoochee Valley Community College rolled to a 10-2 win over Wallace State-Selma on Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader.
CVCC, which is ranked fourth in the latest JUCO national poll, was leading Game 2 17-2 after two innings when rain forced the game to be suspended. It will be completed before the two teams play a regularly-schedule doubleheader on Saturday at CVCC.
Chase Burks pitched a complete game in the opener. He allowed two runs — only one earned — on five hits and three walks. He struck out eight.
Brandon Hill and Will Campbell hit home runs for the Pirates.
Nolan Greckel and Carson Hughes had two hits apiece. AJ Willoughby drove in a run.
CVCC is 33-10 overall and 18-3 in the ACCC South.
