Columbus’ Kyle Albright and Charlie McDaniel shoot 69 in USGA Four-ball
Columbus’ Kyle Albright and Charlie McDaniel shot a 1-under-par 69 on Saturday in the first round of the second annual USGA Four-Ball.
The two played on the East Course at Winged Foot Golf Club.
They are tied for 46th. The top 32 teams after Sunday’s second round of stroke play will advance to match play.
There is a 15-way tie at 2-under.
Andrew Whalen of Ephrata, Wash., and Dylan Wu of Medford, Ore., lead after shooting a 8-under 62.
Albright and McDaniel birdied the first, 10th and 11th holes to move to 3-under and were tied for 11th at the time. But they made back-to-back bogeys on 13 and 14.
They will tee off at 10:30 a.m. Sunday on the West Course.
