Ben Carr tied for 9th at Junior North & South Amateur

Columbus’ Ben Carr moved up six spots to a tie for ninth on Tuesday in the 38th annual Junior North & South Amateur.

Carr, a rising junior at Columbus High, shot a 3-over 73 on Tuesday on Pinehurst Country Club No. 2.

Carr is tied with four others at 3-over. They are two shots behind a pair tied for seventh.

Stephen Carroll of Concord, N.C., leads at 2-under after a 72 Tuesday.

Round 3 will be played Wednesday on Pinehurst No. 8.
