Carr finishes tied for 9th at Junior North & South Amateur

Columbus’ Ben Carr remained in a tie for ninth place on Wednesday in the 38th annual Junior North & South Amateur.

Carr, a rising junior at Columbus High, shot a 2-over 74 in Wednesday’s final round on Pinehurst Country Club No. 8.

Carr finished with four others at 5-over 219.

Alberto Martinez of Weston, Fla., shot a 71 and finished at 2-under 212.

The first and third rounds were played on No. 8. The second round was played on No. 2.
