Northern 10-11 all-stars beat Athens in four innings

The Northern 10-11 baseball all-stars beat Athens 13-3 in four innings on Sunday morning in the state tournament at Sally Little League.

Bradford Bush and Colton Masse each hit home runs for Northern.

Ryan Grantham, Keaton Ernest, Cole Thompson and Andrew Wells drove in runs.

Andrew Wells was the winning pitcher.

Northern will face the West Point/Dudley winner at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Northern 13, Madison County 8

The Northern senior softball all-stars scored eight runs in the second inning and went on to a 13-8 victory over Madison County on Sunday in the state tournament in Cartersville.

Haley Johnson led Northern with a pair of hits and four RBIs. Alexis Sibold had a double and three RBIs.

Alexus McCay had two hits and two RBIs.

Kalie Swanier had a pair of hits.

Emily Davis pitched the first 5 1/3 inning and picked up the win.

Northern plays West Point in another elimination game at 6 p.m. Monday. The winner will play Bartow County for the state title on Tuesday.

Harris County 10, West Point 7

The Harris County senior baseball team beat West Point 10-7 on Sunday afternoon in Watkinsville, Ga.

Jason Wheraley had three hits, including a three-run homer. Brandon Willoughby had three hits, and Brandon King had two.

Andrew Frierson was the winning pitcher.

Harris County plays for the championship at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Northern 5, Peachtree City 4

The Northern 9-10 baseball all-stars beat Peachtree City 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Sewell Park at East Marietta Little League.

Walker Hinton had a pair of doubles and drove in two runs. Ethan Moss had two hits and also drove in two runs.

Akhil Gutta who picked up the win in relief, also drove in a run.

The win evens Northern’s record at 1-1.

Northern plays Belvedere at 6 p.m. Monday.
