Harris County wins senior state title
The Harris County Little League senior baseball all-stars won the state championship Tuesday with a 6-0 victory over West Point.
The game was played at Oconee County High in Watkinsville, Ga.
Brandon King was the winning pitcher.
Jordan Griffin, Brandon Willoughby, James Moore, Timmy Brooks and King had two hits apiece.
Harris County went undefeated in the tournament. Earlier wins were 11-1 over Athens and 10-7 over West Point.
Harris County advances to the Southeast Regional, which will starts July 22 at Safety Harbor, Fla.
West Point 9, Northern 5
The West Point senior softball all-stars scored five runs in the top of the seventh and eliminated Northern 9-5 on Tuesday in the state tournament.
The game was suspended on Monday due to rain.
Alexus McCay and Zoe Paull had two hits apiece. Emily Davis, Kalie Swanier and McCay drove in runs for Northern.
Western 13, Pioneer 3
The Pioneer 9-10 softball all-stars lost 13-3 to Western in Cartersville in the completion of a game that was suspended Monday night due to rain.
Pioneer was limited to just two hits. Savanna Bedell and Madisyn McCool, who had the only RBI.
Pioneer played late Tuesday night against Franklin County. The winner of that game will play Western for the state title on Wednesday.

Northern 25, Belvedere 5
The Northern 9-10 baseball all-stars beat Belvedere 25-5 on Monday night at East Marietta Little League.
No stats were available.
Northern was scheduled to play another elimination game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
