Harris County all-stars go 2-2 in Southeast Regional
The Harris County Little League senior baseball team went 2-2 in the Southeast Region tournament.
Harris County opened with a 9-1 loss to Florida on Saturday. Brandon King had two hits, while Brandon Willoughby, James Moore, Payton Richardson and Timmy Brooks had one each.
Harris County then rebounded with an 8-7 win over Tennessee on Sunday with a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Jason Whearley went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Moore drove in two runs.
Harris County routed South Carolina 18-1 on Monday. Moore hit a homer and drove in five runs. Jordan Griffin, John Moxley, Matt Moorer and Whearley knocked in two runs apiece.
Virginia knocked Harris County out of the double-elimination tournament with a 14-10 victory on Tuesday. Harris County led 9-1 after six innings. Griffin hit two homers and drove in four.
