Northern Little League falls in state championship game

The Northern Little League 11-12 baseball all-stars fell 7-5 to Peachtree City in the state championship game on Friday night.

Northern took a 3-1 lead in the third inning, but Peachtree City took the lead back in the top of the fourth.

Northern scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth but came up two runs short.

Ashton Shackleford hit a two-run homer and Tucker Kite added a solo shot as Northern scored three in the third.

Shackelford finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Trey Sanders finished 2-for-4, including a double, with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Josh Davis Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Avery Robinson, Tucker Kite, William Nobles, Dell Davis and Charlie Forbes also had hits.

If Northern had won Friday’s game, then the two teams would have played again on Saturday in the double-elimination tournament.
