Former Hardaway standout Justin Crawford started his major college career off with a bang.
Crawford rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown to help lead West Virginia to a 26-11 win over Missouri on Saturday. He also caught five passes for 9 yards.
Crawford scored on a 1-yard run up the middle with 12:34 left in the third quarter. It capped an eight-play, 70-yard drive that gave West Virginia a 20-3 lead.
Crawford started the game as the backup to Rushel Shell. Shell left the field in the third quarter with an injury. He finished with 90 yards.
Crawford transferred to West Virginia after two record-setting seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He was a two-time NJCAA All-American who helped NMCC to a national championship.
