clemson 8, georgia tech 5

CLEMSON, S.C. — Casey Harman (5-3) limited Georgia Tech (28-10-1, 14-6-1 ACC) to two runs in 6 2-3 innings, and Jeff Schaus generated four hits and four RBIs, as No. 20 Clemson (29-15, 13-10) held off the fourth-ranked Yellow Jackets to even their weekend series.

Matt Skole’s two-run homer in the ninth for Tech wasn’t enough to overcome the early six-run deficit. Luke Murton led Tech with two hits.

Zach Von Tersch (6-2) took the loss in only 3 2-3 innings. He allowed six runs (five earned) on four hits and four walks.

The teams play the series’ rubber game today at 1 p.m. in Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
