ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech improved to 6-0 versus in-state foes this season with a 4-3 victory against Mercer on Tuesday.
The Yellow Jackets (22-11) fell behind 1-0 in the third inning. But the hosts came back to tie the Bears (20-14) an inning later. Center fielder Daniel Spingola clinched the victory for Yellow Jackets, blasting a three-run homer in the seventh inning for a 4-1 lead.
Georgia Tech starting pitcher Ben Parr (5-1) went a career-best seven and one-third innings to pick up the win.
The Yellow Jackets jump back into conference play on Friday, hosting the Virginia Cavaliers at 7 p.m. ET for the first contest of a three-game series.
