8-run third powers CVCC to 14-6 win over Andrew College

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- AJ Willoughby hit a three-run homer in an eight-run third inning Saturday to power Chattahoochee Valley Community College to a 14-6 win over Andrew College.

CVCC (4-4) pounded out 18 hits in the win. Will Campbell went 3-for-4 with a home run. Nolan Greckel went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Tim Kennedy also went 3-for-5 with a double.

Willoughby was 2-for-6 on the day. Jaylen Smith went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Chase Burks (1-0) worked four innings for the win. He gave up five runs (two earned) on five hits. He walked two and struck out four. Christian Vann worked three innings of scoreless relief. He gave up two hits and struck out two. Logan Haner worked the final two innings. Haner gave up one unearned run on three hits. He struck out three.

Andrew College (4-6) was limited to eight hits. Christian Aragon (0-1) took the loss.

CVCC returns to action Thursday against a yet to be determined opponent at Lakepoint at 3:30 p.m.
