N.C. State pounds out 17 hits in 15-6 win over Georgia Tech
No. 12 North Carolina State pounded out 17 hits in a 15-6 thrashing of No. 19 Georgia Tech on Saturday at Russ Chandler Stadium.
The Wolfpack built a 10-0 lead by the fifth inning and coasted to the win.
Tech (23-11, 7-9 Atlantic Coast Conference) had nine hits on the day. The big one was a three-run homer from Brandt Stallings in the sixth inning. Grant Wruble, who went 2-for-3 and drove in a run, was the only Yellow Jacket with two hits.
Burton Delaney (1-2), who gave up six runs on six hits and retired just three batters, took the loss. Brian Brown (4-1) gave up six runs on seven hits over six innings and picked up the win.
North Carolina State (26-9, 10-5 ) took the first game 8-3 on Friday night.
The final game of the series is Sunday at 1 p.m.
Georgia Tech hosts Mercer Tuesday at 6 p.m.
