CVCC finishes off perfect record at home

The second-ranked Chattahoochee Valley Community College baseball team finished off a perfect season at Howard Lake Field with a 3-1 and 6-0 sweep of Faulkner State on Thursday.

CVCC, which is 43-10 overall, went 23-0 at home.

In the opener, Chase Burks pitched a complete-game. He allowed four hits and a walk in seven innings. He struck out five.

Brandon Hill and AJ Willoughby each drove in a run.

Chase Adkins pitched a complete game in the nightcap. He gave up just three hits and a walk. He struck out eight.

JT Thomas and Jayson Cook both drove in a run.

The Pirates, who have already clinched the ACCC South Division title, finish the regular season with a doubleheader at Faulkner State in Bay Minnette on Saturday starting at 2.

The ACCC tournament gets underway May 13.
