Woodman’s homers lead Ole Miss to 7-3 win over Georgia
J.B. Woodman homered twice and drove in three runs to lead No. 7 Ole Miss to a 7-3 win over Georgia Saturday at Foley Field.
Woodman hit a two-run shot in the first inning to give Ole Miss the lead. The Rebels added another run in the second inning to go up 3-0. Georgia got one run back in the third to make it 3-1.
The teams both scored twice in the fourth to make 5-3. Woodman homered in the fifth and Holt Perdzock homered in the sixth for the Rebels’ final runs.
Stephen Wrenn and LJ Talley each two hits for Georgia (22-25, 7-16 Southeastern Conference).
Connor Jones (5-4) gave up five runs on five hits over four innings and took the loss. David Parkinson (3-2) gave up three runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings and picked up the win for Ole Miss (36-12, 14-9).
In Friday night’s game, the Rebels scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead and held on for the win. Robert Tyler (3-5) gave up six runs on five hits over four innings and took the loss. Andy Pagnozzi (8-2) worked 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and got the win. The Bulldogs’ Bo Tucker finished the game with a scoreless five innings of relief, but Georgia could not make up the two-run deficit.

Alabama 6, Auburn 2
Geoffrey Bramlett and Matt Foster held Auburn to just four hits and struck out 14 as Alabama defeated Auburn 6-2 in the series opener Friday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
Alabama (26-20, 11-11) built an early 3-0 lead and added to it later. Will Haynie went 2-for-4 with a homer for Alabama (26-20, 11-11). Chandler Taylor and Cobie Vance also had two hits each for the Tide.
Auburn (20-25, 7-15) struggled at the plate against both Tide pitchers. Bramlett gave up two runs on three hits and struck out seven over 5 2/3 innings. Foster allowed one hit and struck out seven over a scoreless 3 1/3 innings and he got the save.
Gabe Klobosits (2-5) gave up three runs on three hits without retiring a batter and took the loss.
The teams finish the series today at 4 p.m.
