Georgia College outlasts CSU in PBC volleyball
Columbus State rallied to send Saturday’s Peach Belt Conference volleyball match to a fifth set, but Georgia College took the final frame and match at the Lumpkin Center.
Georgia College (6-2, 1-1 PBC) won 3-2 (25-22, 22-25,25-23,18-25, 15-11).
Zoemy Barreto Pereira led CSU (6-3, 0-2) with 17 kills and four aces. She also had 20 digs. Megan Frame recorded 13 kills and Mary McCarty had 12 kills.
Frame also had four blocks in the match to lead CSU.
Abby King led the Lady Cougars with 48 assists and Caytlin Merritt had 31 digs.
CSU hosts Albany State in a nonconference match Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Lumpkin Center.
