CSU volleyball team falls at Francis Marion

Zoemy Barreto Pereira, Mary McCarty and Andrea Skipor combined for 30 kills Friday night, but Francis Marion won the Peach Belt Conference match.

Francis Marion won 3-1 (25-10, 31-29, 19-25, 25-15). The second set was a pivotal one as the teams battled back and forth before the Lady Patriots prevailed 31-29. CSU came back to take the third set 25-19, but Francis Marion closed out the match 25-15 in set four.

Abby King led CSU with 31 assists. Caytlin Merritt led Columbus State with 15 digs. Barreto Pereira and Savannah Miller each had 14 digs.

Megan Frame and Barreto Pereira each had two aces.

Columbus State (7-4, 0-3 PBC) plays at UNC Pembroke Saturday at 2 p.m.
