Columbus State golf team drops in Aflac/Cougar Invitational
The Columbus State golf team struggled in the final round Tuesday and finished sixth in the Aflac/Cougar Invitational.
CSU shot a 11-over-par 295 to finish the three rounds at the Country Club of Columbus at 12-over 864, falling two spots on Tuesday.
North Alabama shot a 5-under 279 to win at 7-under 845. Lander, which led after the first day, finished second at 3-under 849 after an even-par 284.
Philipp Matlari shot a 2-over 73 to finish at 2-over 215.
Duncan van der Vyver also shot a 73 Tuesday to finished tied for 24th at 3-over.
Cole Cruickshank shot a 74 to finished tied for 27th at 4-over.
Gideon van der Vyver and Matt Zerbel shot shot 75s. Vyver finished tied for 24th at 3-over. Zerbel finished tied for 50th at 10-over.
CSU will play next week at the UNG Fall Invitational at the Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga.
