Columbus State’s men’s golf team finishes third at UNG Fall Invitational

The Columbus State men’s golf team finished in third place in the UNG Fall Invitational at Dahlonega, Ga., on Tuesday.

CSU, which started the day in third, shot a final-round 286 for a three-round total of 19-under-par 845. Newberry won at 831 with Lander second at 840.

Duncan van der Vyver led the 20th-ranked Cougars with a 6-under 210 after shooting an even-par 72 on Tuesday. He tied for eighth.

Philipp Matlari finished tied for 10th at 5-under after a 76. Duncan van der Vyver shot a 70 to finish at 1-under and in a tie for 18th.

Matt Zerbel shot a 72 and finished tied for 22nd at even-par.

Cole Cruickshank finished tied for 46th at 11-over after shooting a 72.

CSU will wrap up the fall schedule on Oct. 17-81 at the TVA Community Credit Union Invitational at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club in Killen, Ala.
