CSU soccer team records sixth straight shutout at Montevallo
Four different Columbus State players scored goals Wednesday night as the Lady Cougars defeated Montevallo 4-0 in a match at Varsity Field.
CSU (12-2-0, 8-1-0 Peach Belt Conference) recorded its sixth straight shutout, tying the school record set in 2009.
Nicole Corcione started the scoring at 10:56 with an assist from Olivia Jarrell. The scoring resumed in the second half when Jarrell scored on an unassisted goal at 52:05.
Cassandra Wade made it 3-0 at 75:20 on an assist from Hugrun Elvarsdottir. Delaney Borror closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 87:18.
Columbus State outshot Montevallo 23-4. CSU had 16 shots on goal, while Montevallo had only two. Goalie Maylyn Parsons had two saves and recorded her second shutout of the season.
No. 5 CSU returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. Augustine, Fla., against Flagler.
