Columbus State golf team has three-shot lead

The Columbus State men’s golf team leads the Sandestin Collegiate Championship after the first two rounds were played Monday. The 16th-ranked Cougars lead with a 2-under 566 (289-277). They are three shots ahead of Georgia College.

CSU’s Rourke Van der Spuy sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 6-under 138 (72-66). He is one shot ahead of Ben Vertz of Nova Southeastern and Roberto Cacho of Barry.

CSU’s other players were Justin Grice (69-72—141, tie-5th), Stephen Swanepoel (73-71—144, t-16) and Steven Paine (76-68—144, t-16).
