Columbus State routs Tuskegee

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Columbus State went on the road Wednesday and hammered Tuskegee 16-3 to sweep the season series between the two schools.

Blaine Miller provided the power for the Cougars (26-11), hitting two home runs, his fifth and sixth of the season, respectively. Kyle Peals (3-1) went six innings on the mound to earn the 'W.'

Tuskegee (11-19) pulled to within 6-3 in the third inning before Columbus State scored 10 unanswered runs to seal the victory.

Columbus State resumes play in the Peach Belt Conference on Friday, taking on Montevallo in a three-game series. First pitch Friday is set for 7 p.m. ET.
