Columbus State dominates Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- Columbus State put on a clinic at the plate Saturday, cruising past Montevallo 20-3.

The Cougars (28-11, 13-10 PBC) collected 19 hits, including five home runs. That run support helped Columbus State starter Bryan Headley barely have to break a sweat en route to improving his record this year to 4-2. Despite the staggering deficit, it was actually Montevallo (18-20, 10-13) that struck first, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Saturday's victory helped the Cougars take the series win following their 14-5 triumph on Friday.

The series concludes Sunday, with the game time set for 1 p.m. ET.
