Columbus State adds two transfers to men's basketball team
Columbus State finished the men's basketball roster with the signing of two players, it was announced Wednesday.
CSU added Brentine Taylor and Arben Camaj. The two transfers bring the total to seven signees for the 2015 recruiting class.
Taylor played last season at Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas. As a junior, he averaged 4.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-6 forward spent a year at Central Georgia Tech. He averaged 16.9 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. He also had 68 blocked shots and 59 steals.
Taylor played at Bluckley County High in Cochran, Ga. He was the Region 3-A player of the year for his senior season.
"Brentine will be a key this season for our inside play," CSU coach Robert Moore said. "He brings a lot of strength and athletic ability to the post position and has the skill set to be a double-double player."
Camaj spent the last two seasons at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind. Last season, the sophomore averaged 4.3 points and 2.6 rebounds. The 6-foot-9 post player finished with 30 blocks in 24 games.
"Arben is a very versatile player that can play multiple positions for us," Moore said. "He has the length to guard the bigger posts in our league, but he can also stretch the floor with his face-up game and outside shooting."
