CSU soccer team picked as favorites to win Peach Belt Conference

Columbus State's soccer team has been picked as the favorite for the Peach Belt Conference title, the conference announced Monday.

Columbus State, ranked No. 5, got eight of 11 first-place votes and three second-place votes to top the poll at 118 points.

The rest of the top five were North Goergia (102), Clayton State (101), Armstrong State (100) and UNC Pembroke (78).

All American Nicole Corcione is one of nine starters returning for the Lady Cougars.

Coach Jay Entlich's 2014 squad won the PBC regular season and tournament championships. The Lady Cougars lost in the national quarterfinals.

CSU opens the season Sept. 4 in the CSU Collegiate Invitational at Walden Soccer Complex. The Lady Cougars play Lynn at 7:30 p.m.
