Columbus State soccer snaps 2-game skid with win over Shorter
The Columbus State soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Shorter on Wednesday night at the Walden Soccer Complex.
CSU (3-2) got on the board just 1:20 into the game as Chelsea Person scored her first goal of the season as she beat the Shorter goalie 1-on-1.
After Shorter had tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Jen Rogers, CSU took a 2-1 lead at 47:30 with an own goal.
Shelby Rolling capped the scoring at 76:30 with her second goal of the season. Cassandra Wade got the assist as she chipped the ball into the box off a free kick.
CSU will open Peach Belt Conference hosting Armstrong State on Friday at 6 p.m.
