Columbus State soccer hosts rival Armstrong State on Friday

The Columbus State and Armstrong State soccer programs have dominated Peach Belt Conference since 2005.

One of the two teams has won every regular-season championship since that year. And the two have combined to win eight of the last nine PBC tournament titles.

The two teams square off Friday night at 6 at the Walden Soccer Complex in the conference opener for both teams.

"Armstrong is always a difficult match for us," CSU coach Jay Entlich said. "They are always extremely well-coached and have a very talented group of players.

"We are going to have to improve on how we have played in the last few matches if we want to come away with a result on Friday."

Columbus State (3-2) beat Shorter 3-1 on Wednesday night. Chelsea Person and Shelby Rolling each scored a goal for the Lady Cougars.

Armstrong State is 2-2.

Columbus State holds a 10-5-2 record against Armstrong, including 5-1-1 at Walden.
