CSU men third, women fifth in North Georgia cross country meet

OAKWOOD, Ga. -- The Columbus State cross country teams competed in the North Georgia Invitational onb Saturday with the men finishing third and the women fifth.

Dalton State won the men's race with 42 points, followed by UNC pembroke with 52, CSU with 105, Berry with 120 and Augusta State with 129.

Cordaryl Whitehead has CSU's best finish in 26 minutes, 32.7 seconds, good enough for fifth place. The rest of CSU's runners were David Thornton (18th, 27:18.1), Hussen Sadik (20th, 27:25.3), James Slavik (41st, 27:56.8), Ryan McFall (43rd, 28:09) and Kane Barrett (45th, 28:11.8).

SCAD-Atlanta won the women's race with 66 points, followed by North Georgia with 67, UNC Pembroke with 126, Dalton State with 130 and CSU with 159.

Ryan Green led CSU by finishing 10th in 23;40.9. The rest of the CSU runners were Kaitlynn Howard (27th, 24:39.5), Linette Cepeda (42nd, 25;17.6), Kayla Parsons (43rd, 25:20.6) and Amber Braswell (51st, 25;39.6).
