Nicole Corcione headed a goal in the net in the first overtime period Tuesday night to give No. 21-ranked CSU a 1-0 victory over West Alabama.

Columbus State (4-2-1) outshot West Alabama (3-2) 27-2, but struggled to get into the net.

In the 99th minute of play Andi Larese put a ball into the box and Corcione headed it inside the far post for the winner.

"West Alabama played great defense all night, and I thought we scored a great goal to win it," coach Jay Entlich said in a release.

CSU returns to Peach Belt Conference play Saturday against USC Aiken at the Walden Soccer Complex. The match starts at 1 p.m.
