Georgia College defeats CSU volleyball 3-1

Taylor Svehla had nine kills and Kayla Brockway had six aces Tuesday to lead Georgia College to a 3-1 win over Columbus State at the Lumpkin Center.

Georgia College (8-6, 3-4 Peach Belt Conference) won the match 25-14, 27-25, 25-20 and 25-23.

CSU jumped out to a 7-1 lead in set three and held off a Georgia College rally.

Savannah Miller and Megan Frame each had 12 kills in the match to lead CSU (2-14, 0-6). Andrea Skipor led CSU with two aces. Caytlin Merritt recorded 20 digs and Cori Ehman had 39 assists in the match.

The Lady Cougars return to action Friday at 7 p.m. against Flagler in St. Augustine, Fla. CSU then travels to Savannah, Ga., Saturday for a 2 p.m. match at Armstrong State.
