Columbus State men picked to finish sixth in Peach Belt Conference

The Columbus State men's basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the Peach Belt Conference preseason poll.

The poll was voted on by the league's 14 head coaches. Coaches were not allowed for vote for their team.

The Cougars finished with 98 points after receiving votes between fourth and ninth.

UNC pembroke was voted to finish first with 163 points, including eight votes for first. Augusta was picked to finish second followed by Montevallo, North Georgia and Georgia Southwestern.

CSU went 22-8 last season and advanced to the PBC tournament championship game. The Cougars also made the NCAA tournament for the second time in three years.

CSU will host the Army All-Stars on Thursday. It will open the regular season on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. against Middle Georgia State.
