Baker scores 20 to lead Columbus State to 91-76 win over Benedict College
ALBANY, Ga. -- Cam Baker scored 20 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out eight assists Saturday night to lead Columnbus State to a 91-76 win over Benedict College in the Albany State Holiday Classic.
Brent Jackson added 18 points for the Cougars (4-0). Jackson also had eight rebounds and four assists.
DeMarcus McVay scored 13 points, going 5-of-7 from the field.
Columbus was 35-for-65 from the field (53.8 percent) and 9-of-21 behind the arc. The Cougars were 12-of-18 from the charity stripe.
Jordan Smith scored 19 points to lead Benedict (4-2).
Lafonzo Smith chipped in 16 points for Benedict.
The Tigers struggled from the field (28-of-71) and on 3-pointers (7-of-30).
As a team, CSU had 41 rebounds compared to 35 for Benedict.
Columbus State continues action in the Albany State Holiday Classic today at 7:30 p.m. when they play host Albany State.
