Columbus State defeats Albany State 74-56

Columbus State built a big lead in the first half and went on to a 74-56 victory over Albany State on Sunday night.

Columbus State, which is 5-0, scored the first 13 points of the game and led by as many as 26 points in the first half.

The Cougars went on to lead 49-30 lead at halftime.

Albany State cut the CSU lead to 10 points in the second half, but the Rams could not get any closer.

Brentine Taylor led CSU with 21 points.

The game was part of the Albany State Holiday Classic. CSU beat Benedict 91-76 on Saturday night.

CSU returns to the court on Dec. 11 at a Miles College tournament in Birmingham, Ala.
