CSU women rout Albany State 71-47

ALBANY, Ga. -- Michelle Mitchell scored 20 points Tuesday night to lead No. 15 Columbus State to a 71-47 victory over Albany State at the HPER Gymnasium.

Mitchell scored 10 points in the first quarter as CSU (5-1) took a 20-7 lead.

The Lady Cougars extended the lead to 38-18 at the end of the first half.

Brea Walker contributed nine points on three 3-pointers. Tatiana Wayne scored nine points and Gabby Williams had eight points in the win.

Other CSU leaders were Britteny Tatum with eight points and Ashley Johnson, Erin Morrow and Eryn Cochran, each with five points.

CSU returns to action later this month when it opens Peach Belt Conference play. The Lady Cougars host UNC Pembroke Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the Lumpkin Center.
