Columbus State athletes Camilla Tobar and Michelle Mitchell received Peach Belt Conference honors for recent performances.
The conference honored Tobar as the Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Tobar won both of her matches in a 5-4 loss to West Florida on Saturday.
Tobar and doubles partner Kirsa Utech beat Hannah Toro and Kat Dikosavljevic 9-7.
In singles, Tobar beat Dikosavljevic 7-5, 6-2. It was her first match as the No. 2 singles player for CSU.
Mitchell was named the Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. It is the fifth time in her two-year career at CSU.
Mitchell had 18 points and eight rebounds in a win over Clayton State that allowed the Lady Cougars to move into a tie for first place in the Western Division.
Then she had 28 points and 17 rebounds in a road win at Georgia College. Mitchell had the double-double by halftime. The rebound total was a career high.
