Caleb Kutsche pitched complete game as Columbus State downs Young Harris
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Caleb Kutsche pitched a complete-game five-hitter as Columbus State knocked off Young Harris 7-1 Friday in the opener of a three-game series.
It was also the Peach Belt Conference opener for both teams.
Kutsche struck out seven and walked none in improving his record to 1-0.
Meanwhile, the Cougars (6-2) pounded out 15 hits as all nine starters and a pinch-hitter had at least one hit.
Third baseman Blake Edwards led CSU with three hits including a double. Matt Nettles, Hunter Bowling and Tyler Fichter had two hits apiece.
Designated hitter Christian Miller drove in two runs.
The series continues on Saturday at 1 p.m.
