Columbus State rallies from seven runs down to sweep Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. -- Columbus State rallied from a seven-run deficit to beat Young Harris 13-12 in Game 2 of a doubleheader at Zell Miller Field on Saturday.

That gave the Cougars a sweep as they won the first game 12-5.

It also gave them a sweep of the three-game Peach Belt Conference series.

CSU trailed 12-5 after six innings in Game 2 Saturday.

Ryan Ihle got the comeback started with ab RBI single in the seventh.

The Cougars scored five in the eighth as Matt McClellan, Matt Nettles, Ihle, Grant Berry and Chris Daniel all drove in runs.

Nettle and McClellan drove in runs in the ninth.

Kolton Ingram (1-0) earned the win, pitching the final two innings for CSU.

In the opener, CSU scored eight in the third.

Christian Miller had the big hit, driving in two. McClellan finished the game going 5-for-5 with three RBIs.

CSU has won six straight to improve to 9-2. The Cougars are 3-0 in the conference.

They host Stillman on Tuesday at Burger King Stadium.
