Columbus State split softball doubleheader with UNC Pembroke
The Columbus State softball team split a pair of Peach Belt Conference games against UNC Pembroke on Saturday at Cougar Field.
Pembroke won the first game 4-3, but CSU bounced back to win 5-1.
CSU had a 3-0 lead heading into the seventh inning in Game 1, but starter Peyton Sorrells and reliever Sydney Barker (4-3) couldn’t hold the lead.
Kailey Boone and Katie White drove in runs, while Lee Anne Rees had a pair of hits.
Hanna Manley (4-3) pitched a complete game in Game 2. She allowed just the one run on six hits.
Rachel Rhodes hit a two-run homer.
CSU (15-10, 3-1) will play at Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
