Columbus State’s Mike McClellan wins honors

Columbus State baseball player Mike McClellan was named the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Hitter of the Week on Wednesday.

McClellan, who also won the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors earlier this week, hit .444 (8-for-18) with three home runs and 10 RBIs in leading CSUI to a 4-0 record.

He homered in three straight games to lead the Cougars to a sweep of rival Georgia College.
