Columbus State to induct Rall, Suarez and Koyiaki

Golf, tennis and track and field are reperesnted by the three newest members of the Columbus State University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jaco Rall (golf), Frank Suarez (tennis) and Meshack Koyiaki (track and field and cross country) were voted into the Class of 2016 by the Hall of Fame committee. They will be inducted during a ceremony at the school on April 30.

“We are excited to announce an outstanding Hall of Fame class,” CSU Hall of Fame President Scott Miller said in a news release. “Columbus State has such a rich tradition and history of excellence in athletics and this year’s class is another reflection of that.”

Rall was a member of CSU’s most recent national golf championship in 1997. He won the 1998 Peach Belt Conference championship by six strokes. He won the title again in 1999, one of only two golfers to win back-to-back PBC titles.

Suarez won 40 matches and earned all-conference honors three times as a singles player. He earned All-America honors in 2008 and 2010. He was all-conference and All-America in doubles in 2009.

Koyiaki is the only CSU runner to be earn All-America honors (2009 and 2010). Koyiaki nearly captured the NCAA cross country championship as he finished in second place in 2010.

Over those two seasons, Koyiaki won every regular-season race he entered.
