No. 10 CSU tennis sweeps Morehouse 9-0 at home
The No. 10-ranked Columbus State tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Morehouse on Monday in a non-conference match at the Mary V. Blackmon Tennis Center. With the win, the Cougars are now 10-3 on the season.
Columbus State won all three doubles matches, with the duos of KP Pannu and Zach Whaanga defeating Jabez Beazer and Justin Samples 8-4, Marco Almorin and Jorge Vargas sweeping Brandon Sanders and PJ Stamps 8-0, and Benedikt Wilde and Martynas Zakaitis sweeping Rasheed Slade and Ziha Meghoo-Peddie 8-0.
In singles action, the Cougars lost just six games in six matches. Pannu won 6-0, 6-2, Almorin 6-1, 6-1, Vargas 6-0, 6-0, Whaanga 6-0, 6-0, Zakaitis 6-1, 6-0 and Wilde 6-1, 6-0.
Columbus State plays a key Peach Belt Conference match against Armstrong State on Saturday at 11 a.m. at home.
