USC Aiken shuts out Columbus State twice
The Columbus State softball team were blanked twice by USC Aiken on Saturday at Cougar Field, 14-0 and 1-0.
Kailey Boone had the Lady Cougars’ only hit in Game 1 against Taylor Morgan.
Peyton Sorrells suffered the loss as she allowed nine runs — seven earned — on seven hits and a walk in six innings.
In Game 2, CSU managed four hits, one each by Kia Smith, Kayleigh Briant, Keeli Waugh and Boone.
Hanna Manley (7-8) took the loss. She allowed the one run on six hits in seven innings.
CSU (21-20, 5-9 Peach Belt Conference) hosts Lander on Sunday for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
