Columbus State’s game vs. Augusta in Peach Belt tournament postponed

The Columbus State baseball game against Augusta, which was scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, has been postponed.

The teams are now scheduled to play at 9 a.m. Friday.

Friday was a scheduled off say for CSU, which lost its Peach Belt Conference opener 7-6 to North Georgia on Wednesday.

Heavy rain moved through the Florence, S.C., area early Thusrday afternoon during the Montevallo-USC Aiken game.

Montevallo went on to beat 15-9.

Georgia College beat North Georgia 4-2.

Peach Belt tournament

The format for the Peach Belt Conference tournament is pool play. The eight teams are broken into two pools. Each team will play the other three teams in its pool. The winners of the pools will play in the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Pool A has Columbus State, Georgia College, Augusta and North Georgia. Pool B has Lander, USC Aiken, Montevallo and Flagler.
