The Columbus State cross country teams began the season Friday at the Strut’s Season Opener with the men finishing fifth and the women finishing sixth.
William Hollis led the CSU men in the 5k race. Hollis finished 16th with a time of 16:16.2. David Calhoun was 19th at 16:19.4. Austin Kidd and Isaac Krumm also finished in the top 25 with times of 16:22.9 and 16:28.3. Austin Stewart finished 29th at 16:42.3 to close out team scoring.
Linette Cepeda ran the fasted time for the CSU women in the 4k race. She finished 16th at 15:59.0. Amber Braswell was 26th at 16:17.4. Tatiana Forester was 30th at 16:35.3. Jastonie Hill was 35th at 16:41.2. Eva Salaza-Torres closed out the team scoring, finishing 44th at 17:24.6.
Columbus State returns to action Saturday in the Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville, Ga.
